                                          2. Remember to work a little every day on finishing your labs.

                                             Decide how you want to break up your time, and which part of the

                                             lab you will work on each night.  Remember that the "Real" lab

                                             report must be a full lab report. 

                                           3.  Both labs are due on Tuesday, March 11th. (even if you don't

                                               have science because of the Mastery Test schedule!!!!!!!!!!)

1.  Study chapters 5 and 6 for the quiz Friday about Weathering and Erosion processes.

*  When you find a rock that you want to use for the Rock Lab, bring it to school, and keep it in your locker until we need it.

 

1. To be ready for the game tomorrow, you will need to read pages 143 thru 145 and pages 150 thru 154 in your geology book!

2.  If you have your own mineral and / or rock collection, start thinking about how you want to organize it to share with the class in a couple of weeks.

3. Remember to be on the look out for a "cool" rock that you will use for a Rock Lab we will be doing.  After conducting different tests to help you identify specific things about the rock, you will have to split the rock open.  So, do not choose a rock that you do not want to break open.

(You'll receive more details in coming weeks.)

The week of January 29 - February 2, 2007

Read and hightlight the "Layers of the Earth"  handout. (Good news - You will not have to memorize the temperatures and exact sizes of any of Earth's layers!)

Complete the "Faults and Stress" review sheet.  (Remember that there are 2 steps to the directions!)

 

1.  Complete the 10 "Layers of the Earth" multiple choice questions.

2.  Label the "Types of Faults" pictures.

Copy the "Weathering" Concept map from page 130 in your Geology book onto a piece of  8.5" X 11" paper.  Look at the bold print and sub-headings in the chapter to fill in the missing words on the concept map.

Enjoy your extra day off!  Remember to type the rough draft of the results intro and the rough draft of the conclusion for Tuesday.

 

 Jan. 9th - Data Chart and 2 Graphs due

 Jan. 10th - Typing due for heading, title,   purpose, hypothesis, and variables sections.

 Jan. 11th - Typing due for materials, and procedure sections.

 Jan. 12th - NOTE CHANGE:

Study for the Respiratory System Quiz tomorrow.

 Jan. 17th - Typed rough draft of Results introductory sentences (mean, range, any outliers?, etc.)and the Typed rough draft of the Conclusion are due.

 Jan. 19th - Final Typed Lab Report Due!
