Eighth Grade Spelling Program
Our program this year is based on learning Greek and Latin roots, then applying them to the correct spelling and usage of words. This allows you to increase your vocabulary while you refine your spelling.
Each week, students will learn four basic roots, followed by 16 spelling words using the roots. Normally, we will review the words on Monday, and a test will occur on Friday. Students will define the four roots and spell the 16 words. Sprinkled among these root-based words will be commonly misspelled words, as well.
Spelling help is always available. Please approach me for ideas for effective studying or stop by anytime to review the words.
