Connection to art, music, or poetry Due Friday, May 16 Quiz Grade |
Step one: Choose a piece of music, art or poetry. Your subject matter must not already have a connection to the Holocaust.
Step two : Consider how this work reflects one or several of the events in the life of our Holocaust hero. The entire piece does not need to connect with our book; however, several excerpts from the poem, music, or artwork should be linked.
Step three : Bring the piece to class and be prepared to present it in some form: playing the music, reading the lyrics, reciting the poem, and showing the piece of art. I can put materials on overhead if given one day’s notice. Explain to the class how you made the connection to our Holocaust hero’s story.
Step four : Submit a one-page explanation of the connection. Include at least one direct excerpt from the book to support your position.
Remember: Do NOT simply connect your material to the Holocaust in general. A specific connection to an event in our hero’s life must be made.
